The Public Health & Environment Division was created as part of the 2009-2010 reorganization combining two former divisions: Public Health and Land & Water Services. This new division includes the Public Health, Environmental Services, Land Management, and Planning & Water Management departments [the latter two departments were previously Planning & Zoning], and two agencies – Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) and the Community Development Agency (CDA). The environmental segment of the division is responsible for a wide array of programs and projects relating to land, water, housing, environment, conservation, and economic development.
